Dr. Iñaki Gonzalez-Foruria
Specialist in Gynecology & Reproductive Medicine
Dr. Iñaki González-Foruria is a gynecologist specializing in Reproductive Medicine. After graduating in Medicine and Surgery with “Extraordinary Degree Award” in 2005, he began his Medical training in Gynecology and Obstetrics at the Hospital Clínic of Barcelona (2006-2010), recognized as one of the best hospitals nationwide.
At that moment he was attracted by the field of Sterility and Assisted Reproduction, he trained as a subspecialist in Reproductive Medicine at the same hospital from 2010 to 2016.
In 2014, and after obtaining an international scholarship, he moved to Paris to carry out a Research fellowship focused on the pathophysiology of endometriosis at the Hôpital Cochin (INSERM) /Université Paris Descartes supervised by Professor Charles Chapron, one of the world’s most renowned professionals on this disease. In 2016, Dr. González-Foruria continued his professional career at the Reproductive Medicine Service of the Dexeus University Hospital, the pioneer center in assisted reproduction in Spain, where the first pregnancy was achieved through in vitro fertilization in that country.
During the 6 years of experience in this Department, his interest in fields such as low ovarian reserve and response, endometriosis, embryo implantation or knowledge of the luteal phase have given rise to multiple scientific publications in journals of international impact, chapters of books, as well as conferences and presentations at national and international congresses and courses (https://orcid.org/0000-0003-4846-0578).
In 2018, and after several years of work in the field of endometriosis, he obtained the International Doctorate Degree from the University of Barcelona with Excellent Cum Laude. In 2020, Dr. González-Foruria began his career as Associate Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Vic-Universitat Central de Catalunya.
Currently, Dr. González-Foruria is the Medical Director of NatuVitro. His incorporation to the team is very much in line with the center’s philosophy: to offer all kinds of personalized reproductive solutions to patients with gestational desire, through treatments based on scientific evidence that fully respect the health of the woman and the future newborn. His experience in low ovarian reserve, endometriosis, and less invasive treatments such as in vitro fertilization in a natural cycle, is of enormous help to many women to achieve their precious goal.
